Owners Patrick and Nina Mehring, had a dream to take their family across the South Pacific and scout for treasures that are not found anywhere else in Hawaii. Each item is displayed with a little sign telling its story—the village where it was found, what makes it unique, or how it relates back to Hawaii. Banana Wind also has the largest sea shell collection in the state of Hawaii. All our shells are from South Pacific Waters, including shells that can be found directly in Hawaiian waters. All our shells are non-endangered and have only been harvested for food, or have been previously expired.
